A quarter of our staff have friends or relatives in Ukraine. We are in daily contact with them. We are grateful that men without military training have not yet been drafted into the war, but we are very worried about the humanitarian supply of the people. The infrastructure in the country has collapsed, yesterday only a few shops were open, there was no bread to buy. The families’ supplies will last for a maximum of two weeks. We are faced with the challenge of how to provide for the families when there are neither roads into the country nor food to buy locally.
So please let us pray for the following:
- That God will do a miracle and end this war.
- That God will provide for the people and they may accept Him as their personal Saviour in this situation.
- That the fires will stop and bread can be baked again.
- That the supplies from abroad will work out
- That enough donations will be collected to give the people money with which they can buy food.
To illustrate for you how much money we need on a daily basis, here is an example:
We look after 23 Messianic congregations in Ukraine. On average, 20 to 30 people belong to these congregations. If we can give each community 500 Euros per day, that is 20 Euros per person. From which they have to organise food, warmth, clothing. So it is a matter of pure survival!
Furthermore, our staff from Germany and Poland receive groups of Jewish children who are to be provided with two meals a day. Due to the high demand, prices in Poland are rising enormously at the moment. Therefore, we are working closely with organisations that bring practical goods to the border. Please also pray for our staff that they will be able to provide pastoral care to the arriving children and that the children will experience God’s love.
From the border we first go to the big cities. Today Messianic brothers and sisters are arriving in Munich, in Berlin we have been able to take in 20 Jews so far. They are doing well. We provide them with clothes and food and in the short term they can sleep on the floor with us. In the long term, however, we are looking for accommodation for them.
Unfortunately, we have received very few accommodation offers in the big cities so far. If you know of any accommodation options, please contact us using the contact form from ukraine.beitsarshalom.org/englisch. As soon as the people there have settled down, we will also come back to accommodation offers from rural areas. Thank you very much for this already.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to share all these concerns with you, and look forward to your support in helping Jewish people who have lost their homes and introducing their Prince of Peace, Yeshua ha Maschiach.
